Seri Pacific Hotel (KL, Malaysia)

Date : 19042014

Seri Pacific Hotel
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This 5-star hotel formerly known as Pan Pacific Hotel, KL still maintains the standard set and the room which we stayed on the 20th floor offered a decent view of the city.

The room generally was nice, clean, have good ergonomics as what you would expect in a 5-star hotel. It came with a sofa and flat screen TV but the remote had weak batteries unfortunately. The mini-bar was well hidden behind closed doors by the wall and we took sometime locating it.

The bathroom had separate sections for bathtub & sitting bowl and rain shower. Comes with a bidet which is always good for me as I didnt get a change to flood the flooring as what I would normally do. Good space for moving around and the room did not look cluttered by any means.

It was a pity we stayed for 1 night and did not get to explore all the facilities on offer like the swimming pool and gym. We had a go at the Chereza Lounge where the "LIVE" performance by a quartet of 3 Filipino girls and a guy belted out hits of the 80s and 90s. Surprisingly they did a good rendition of "Chamak Chalo" from a Shah Rukh Khan super-hero movie. The mocktails - namely Jantung Hatiku, Fruit Punch & another tasted no different while my Langkawi was soursop-py if you know what I mean.

We had buffet breakfast at Zende Restaurant in the morning the the buffet spread was generous. The egg station is always my favourite and there was Nasi Lemak, Prata, Dim Sum, Breads, Cereals, Salads, Sausages, Hashbrown, Bread & Butter Pudding and a fine selection of Yoghurt! Coffee or Tea will be served by the roaming servers whil you can choose to have different types of beverages such as juices and bandung.

Overall the hotel did gave me a feel that I would want to return eventhough the location is a little further from major shopping malls like the Pavilion, KLCC and Masjid India.

NZ Garden Cafe (KL, Malaysia)

Date : 18042014

NZ Curryhouse Garden Cafe
Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia

A Mama shop where people want to chill and be seen.

Sitting pretty next to the Public Bank building along Jalan Ampang and within sight of the majestic KLCC across the road, this is actually one of the branches of NZ Curry House which started out at Wangsa Maju. This place comes with a convenience store and comes to life at night when local artistes and the good city residents chill with friends and business associates. There is a paid open parking space next to the restaurant and motorcycle groupies would decend at this place on weekend nights so be prepared for roaring vrooms!

It was my 2nd time here and I enjoyed the experience with friends the first time round. Menu is extensive to include local Indian, Western and local fares. Was lucky enough to spot one-time dangdut singer Ifa Radziah just one table away from us. Price is higher than one would find in a local Mama shop but decent food and service makes up for it.

We had Maggi Goreng, Egg Thosai, Tissue Canai, Sardin Canai, BBQ Drumsticks & Fried Rice with Sunshine Side-Up. Price ranged from RM2.50 to RM5.80 per item with an extensive list of drinks on the menu available. At the start we had madeup our minds to try the fruit shishas but apparently forgot all about it until we returned to our hotel!

The NZ Convenience Store within the vicinity was well stocked and have nearly what you can find in a 7-Eleven store so kudos to them. No problem getting newspapers, magazines, drinks and snacks here to
stock-up in our hotel room.

Overall experience is wonderful and great if you are in a big group of friends. Try the different items on the menu and for sure I will be back here for more...
